“Show it to us on the table with folks eating it and a pic of you cooking it.”
April Ryan, White House reporter for American Urban Radio networks and CNN analyst, demanded President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders provide proof she baked a pie she tweeted a photo of on Thanksgiving Day.
It started on Thursday with Sanders doing what many Americans did that day–post a photo of their Thanksgiving Day meal, “I dont cook much these days, but managed this Chocolate Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving at the family farm!”
Ryan commented late Friday morning making clear she was not joking, demanding Sanders provide proof, and included a jab at Sanders asking reporters earlier this week to state what they are thankful for, “Show it to us on a table” and “I am not trying to be funny but folks are already saying #piegate and #fakepie Show it to us on the table with folks eating it and a pic of you cooking it. I am getting the biggest laugh out of this. I am thankful for this laugh on Black Friday!”
Sanders politely replied with an offer to bake her a pie next week, but followed with a jab of #FakeNews back at Ryan, “Don’t worry @AprilDRyan because I’m nice I’ll bake one for you next week #RealPie #FakeNews ;-)”
Ryan also posted a New York Daily News article on the ginned up pie controversy, “I am laughing so hard at this. I needed this laugh!”
That tweet by Ryan was retweeted by “Senior Advisor to @barackobama”, Eric Schultz.
Ryan is good friends with Valerie Jarrett, former President Barack Obama’s closest advisor who served all eight years of the Obama presidency at the White House.
Our fair and balanced media.
UPDATE: Sanders retweeted a reply from her brother-in-law, David W. Sanders to Ryan.
“Asked @PressSec’s daughter about #piegate. Claims pie was “made by Mom” and was “yummy”. Declined further comment as Paw Patrol was on.”
UPDATE via The Daily Caller: “A reverse image search did not find any other pictures of the pecan pie that Sanders posted.”
