Former First Lady and ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been weighing her options recently in the face of her disgrace last November. The goal seems to be to stay in the limelight until she can run for president again in 2020.
One of the options she is reportedly exploring is launching a television talk show. She believes that the democratic base and her former supporters have a lot to talk about in the face of their discontent with President Trump.
According to Ed Klein — an author who has not been a Clinton Family supporter — the former presidential candidate is figuring out her next move.
Via Edward Klein: “She’s been talking very seriously about the idea of having her own television show. As a TV host, she’d discuss the issues of the day from a progressive point of view, have top guests, interview world leaders, and progressive thinkers.
“It would have to be a show that she and her people completely controlled,” Klein said the source added. “She’s convinced she’d get fabulous ratings in a political climate where there’s so much anger in Democratic circles over Donald Trump’s election.”
The word around Capitol Hill is that she is absolutely determined to not fade into the background, but keep her fan base riled up until the 2020 election cycle.
Most of Clinton’s options are ones that recently unemployed President Obama will be vying for as well. However, she has expressed her opinion of him by saying, “…she doesn’t think he’s a great leader or a great fighter, which leaves an opening for her to be the acknowledged leader-in-exile of her party.” Obviously, loyalty to her friends won’t be a topic that she’s qualified to speak on.
There is currently only one, anonymous source that is talking about these plans, so there’s time to hope and pray that they are wrong.
