Senior Coordinator for Atlantic Cooperation Lapenn’s Travel to Namibia, South Africa, and Angola

Ambassador Jessye Lapenn, Senior Coordinator for Atlantic Cooperation, will travel July 27-August 4 to Windhoek and Walvis Bay, Namibia; Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa; and Luanda, Angola.  She will meet with government officials, non-governmental organizations, and the business community on the importance of Atlantic cooperation.

Through the initiative for Atlantic Cooperation, led by Ambassador Lapenn, the United States is working to collaborate with coastal Atlantic countries to support sustainable blue economies, promote climate resilience, and strengthen maritime governance on issues like illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing and trafficking.
