Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Hammer Travels to San Diego, California

Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Ambassador Mike Hammer will join Congresswoman Sara Jacobs, the Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, to address an Ethiopian diaspora peace conference on July 21, co-hosted by Horn of Africa Community and the University of San Diego’s Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.  The event brings together Ethiopian diaspora leaders and the wider community to build on the November 2022 Cessation of Hostilities Agreement and support efforts to achieve a lasting peace, including through an effective disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) program and transitional justice, including accountability for abuses and violations of human rights.  During his visit, Ambassador Hammer will also address the San Diego World Affairs Council, and speak to participants in the San Diego Diplomacy Council Global Youth Leadership Program and the Hansen Summer Institute on Leadership and International Cooperation at the University of San Diego.
